Metolius River Sweater

Metolius River Sweater

$8.00

Make your Metolius Sweater your very own design - do you want a dress, sweater or tunic? Choose your length, neckline and pockets; even wear it with or without the detachable cowl on a given day!

Snuggle up safe and warm in soft, cozy ribbing inspired by the Metolius River and a rustic cabin in snowy woods. Metolius is a versatile and casual sweater with just a twist of cable accents reflecting the headwaters of the Metolius River as it gushes out of the ground in Central Oregon.

Metolius is constructed top-down so it’s easy to make it any length you prefer - waist, hip, tunic or dress length. Instructions include options for the convertible neckline and two different pocket designs.

Construction for main body is seamless and worked in round with wide ribbing and mock cable accents. Raglan seams show off a cable motif that reflect log cabin joins as do the optional patch pockets. The sleeves and hemline erupt into a wide band of Mock Cable ribbing depicting the headwaters of the Metolius emerging from the ground.

Neckline options include I-Cord, I-Cord with detached cowl neck for a convertible option, or an attached cowl neck. Make the cutest little vertical pockets that are so much fun to create and are nearly hidden, or echo the design from the raglan seam panels on patch pockets. The only seams are in the optional pockets: to close the lining of the optional vertical pockets or to attach patch pockets.

The instructions are both charted and written and the pattern has been professionally tech edited and tested.

INSPIRATION: The Metolius River in Central Oregon emerges fully grown at 50,000 gallons a minute from the arid base of Black Butte. The Metolius River once had its source high on the slopes of Mt. Washington, but massive lava flows buried that region and Black Butte erupted directly over the Metolius River’s route. Now the river percolates underground through the lava and emerges from gigantic springs at the base of Black Butte. http://www.oregon.com/recreation/hike-metolius-river
